Cassi & Brad A Pine Creek Wedding -Oregon, IL

There's something special about a couple who puts people first. When Cassi and Brad filled out their wedding questionnaire, their answer about what they wanted their photos to tell stopped me: "Overall what is important is capturing those candid moments with everyone who came out to celebrate." The laughing, the dancing, the singing, the people just talking and being together. That's the heart of a great wedding story, and theirs had it in abundance.
The day took place at two stunning spots along the Rock River in Oregon, IL. Getting-ready coverage started at their Airbnb before heading to Pine Creek Escape for the ceremony, then over to River's Edge Experience for the reception. With 200 guests, a 12-person wedding party, and karaoke later in the night, there was no shortage of moments to capture.
A Timeline Worth Talking About
Cassi and Brad chose to do a first look, which I always love. It gives couples a private moment before the chaos of the ceremony, and it means we could knock out formal portraits earlier in the day while everyone was still fresh. With family photos, full wedding party shots, and all the special pairings they requested (bride with the groomsmen, groom with the bridesmaids, the officiant, the whole crew), we had a full but manageable portrait session before the 4:00 ceremony.
One little detail I loved: the guys wore Dickies. No stuffy tuxedos here. It fit perfectly with the laid-back, fun energy Cassi and Brad were going for.
The Details That Made the Day
Cassi mentioned that a lot of effort went into the details, and it showed. Merlin's Flowers handled the florals, Noble Cakery brought the sweetness, and MC Beauty kept everyone looking gorgeous from start to finish. DJ Ryan Finley kept the dance floor moving all the way through to the 11:00 reception close, and trust me, with karaoke on the schedule, no one needed much convincing to stay.
Cassi's dress came from Wolsfelt's Bridal, her shoes were handmade from an Etsy shop (a detail I adore), and the bridesmaids wore gowns from Azazie. It was the kind of mix of meaningful, personal choices that tells you a lot about a couple.
One More Reason This Day Was Extra Special
I have to share something: Cassi and Brad picked their wedding date without knowing that it also happens to be my wedding anniversary. My husband and I were lucky enough to work this one together, since he covered video for the day. Spending our anniversary watching another couple celebrate their love, surrounded by 200 people who clearly adore them? Honestly, not a bad way to mark the occasion.
